Child of an angel and a demon? Well…that would certainly explain a few things. And also nothing at all. How could a creature like that even be conceived? Her mind refused to accept the possibilities. It was too unnatural for her to comprehend. That two mortal enemies might come together and create life? It was unfathomable. Even more so, how had the creature survived to be as old as he was? Something like that, if what he said was true and he was welcome in neither Heaven or Hell, which she could easily believe, should have been killed in the womb. Or, if it had managed to survive long enough to be birthed into the world, surely both sides of the war would have been gunning for him his entire life. How, then, had he survived?
Perhaps his parents had protected him in some way? That bespoke a connection much deeper than any one night stand. What in the Hell could have happened to turn good and evil inside out like that?
