Who: Ira Spencer, Kishan, open to more! What: Lunch! Where: Maryanne's Restaurant When: Sunday afternoon Warnings: Not likely
Ira Spencer wasn't nervous. Not at all. He had practical experience running a store. He'd taken over for his boss back home at the bookstore more times than he could count. So this was food. Big deal, how different could it be?
A whole world of different, and Ira knew it. But he wasn't worried. Not really. He could handle it. One customer at a time, right? And besides, he didn't expect a huge rush. People were used to eating on their own for lunch. Maybe most of them liked it that way. But at the same time he didn't want to get over run, he hoped a few people would show up. He needed business to make lunch hours a success.
He wiped down the tables, he checked the menu. He checked the stock he had in the kitchen. He checked the clock. He needed to open soon. Like, now. He nodded and took a moment to center himself.
Ira drew in a breath, counted to ten before releasing it. Then he sauntered to the doors, flipped the sign and turned the lock to allow people to come in. Maryanne's restaurant was officially open for lunch.
