Smiling in thanks, Luna took a few steps in the direction Clint had been traveling in previously, as if motioning for him to walk.
"You need not buy me anything, Clint Barton," she said with a tilt of her head to look up at him. Her dark brown hair moved in waves and ringlets on her shoulders, sweeping down her back and getting caught between her wings which stretched momentarily before collapsing again.
They may pose a problem, though it was the month of Nightmare Night--ah, Halloween!
"You have stepped on pebbles? You seem far superior to have done such a thing."
~~~
“When I was a little kid. And the only reason I don’t know is because I know better than to go outside with no shoes on.” He smiled. “But certainly not because I’m superior. I’m just….wiser.” He nodded. That was the way to put it for sure.
~~~
“Mmm, I see,” Luna nodded and adjust her hands upon his arm comfortably, eyes falling front. “What is it you do here? Applejack has her farm, I am glad to see, and I have met a magnificent mare who watches the oceans. Are you a watcher, as well?”
~~~
Clint thought about what it was that he contributed to the island. “Up until recently, I’m afraid, I’ve been the town drunk but I’ve put that behind me.” He nodded. “I guess you could call me a watcher. I keep an eye on things when I can’t sleep. Though I’ll have my son to think of now so I probably won’t be doing much but taking care of him.” He cleared his throat.
Her eyes turned once more up toward Clint’s face, studying his strong jaw and the look in his eye as he spoke. Interesting.
“That’s quite good of you,” she finally said. “To change, for your son. I find it admirable. I do not have any children,” Luna stated, looking at the road again. “I have met town drunks before, often I have put them in the dungeon. I think you would not wish to reside there.” She teased.
“Dungeons aren’t great places to live, no.” He shook his head with a soft laugh. “As for my son….I would say that I’m all he has but that’s not true because I know that Peggy and Rarity would both watch him any time I needed it and they both care about him very much. And there are others, too. So I’m not alone in caring for him. He does need me, though, to be his dad. And that’s most important. Being what he needs.” He nodded.
