The still night air was ruffled lightly with a breeze that had worked its way from the ocean, skimming across the tops of the trees. She lifted her head a little, sniffing the salty air and for a moment again it reminded her she was in a place that was nothing like her home. All of her People, all the tribes who had come and fought with them, for Jake, she missed them all. But she pushed the memories away, asking Eywa to hold them in safe keeping so she could recall them another time.
Her ears twitched, eyes narrowing a little as she heard her mate's progress through the valley, almost within sight.
