She listened to him, or tried to because it was difficult to not get lost in his eyes. That definitely was the booze talking in her head, and she patted his hand a little in sympathy. "Your family don't know this you very well, right? I'm guessing they just need to open up their minds a little in order to accept you."
Sook sipped her drink and scratched the back of her neck idly, her foot still tapping to the beat. "I think it's easy for other people to see what you got and say that it's great. Maybe I just miss my Gran and my brother and all my friends back home. Back in Louisiana, I'd never come home to an empty house. Feels bad, being alone." she muttered the last part and swigged from her glass again.
