Re: Visiting Lizzie
Richie was floored, pulling his hand back to hide the Rider's mark. He'd been having a private conversation with his sister, revealing to her about his secrets, and suddenly there was a room full of people. He bristled when Jason rudely pushed in between Richie and Lizzie without even so much as a hello, it was a little more than Richie's upbringing would allow him to tolerate. He stood up, stiffly, and nodded at Steve. "Wait up, Steve," he called after the retreating orderly. "I'll give you a hand with the trolley." He wasn't interested in getting into a fight so figured it was best he left. Lizzie clearly hadn't told Jason that Richie had arranged to visit her that afternoon, after his shift in the recovery operation and it was pretty clear to Richie Jason unhappy to see him there.
"You let me know when you want to catch up some more, sis," he said, "and next time I'll bring flowers." He didn't bother to tell her he could have her out of there that afternoon, or try and push past Jason to give Lizzie a kiss, just waving to the two of them and headed out the door to help Steve with the trolley.
After all, Steve had met Richie's newly arrived grandfather Howard, and Richie had a whole load of questions.
