Peggy downed most of her water in a gulp. She looked out at the dark night and caught her reflection. The scarf looked ridiculous around her neck and she tugged at the knot hiding her bruises. They'd fade, of course, but she couldn't help but regret hiding them. She slipped the scarf off, "I'm sorry I hurt you by hiding these."
