"Oh, no, there's no need to thank me," he insisted, giving her a dismissive wave. "It's good to be of use," he insisted. He wasn't used to being a Blank- he wasn't used to being without the need for sleep, he wasn't used to being anything other than human. Even though he was using his strange abilities, it made him feel good, normal, to be able to help. Like he wasn't just some machine.
He added the soy milk, and handed the coffee over.
He nodded in agreement as she spoke. "Yes, exactly. We'll just keep an eye on you, and if there's any sign of disturbed sleep, or any injuries appearing, we'll wake you up," he explained. "It was suggested that you could be hooked up to a monitor, to be even more certain, but I'm afraid I'd have to hand you over to someone else if you felt you wanted to do that- me and hospital equipment don't mix," he said, with a lighthearted smile. Oh, there was no need to be so glum about everything.
