Sook sat there, still dumbstruck by the information that she had no blood type. People had blood types, right? Human people did, but what if she wasn’t just human. Sookie hung her head in her hands and waited for Cal to come back and get some answers.
--
Cal came back to the room with a blood donation kit. "The good news is, your blood is compatible so I can take some and it won't kill him." He smiled.
--
“How’d you know I’m compatible if you don’t know my blood type?” she asked, eyeing up the man. “Blood types getting mixed up can cause seizures. They did that with my brother once.”
--
Cal smiled. "That's the test I just ran. I mixed the blood samples and viewed it under a microscope. There was no adverse effect. There would have been a visible reaction if it weren't compatible."
--
“Okay.” Sook held out her arm to Cal, “I trust that you’re a real doctor and not a fake or something.”
--
He laughed and started to get everything ready for the donation. "Eight years of college and a four year residency to prove it. If we were back where I came from anyway." He smiled.
