"Thank you." Cal smiled and took the gauze. It took nearly two hours for him to stitch up all of the cuts that needed it. Fortunately they only needed stitches. His back and fingers ached horribly but he kept working. When he was done and everything was bandaged properly, he made sure that Colin stay laying on his side.
"He's stable for now but until he gets more blood he won't be out of the woods." He slipped the gloves off and ran his fingers through his hair.
--
“Is there any left? I don’t know what type I am, I don’t want to hurt him.” She muttered, leaning against a wall. She was so tired but couldn’t get the sight of Colin near dead on the floor. “I’ve never really been hurt before.”
--
"There's enough to keep him alive until we can get people to donate more. I can type you if you'd like."
--
“Okay. If I’m a match I can give him some of mine.” She nodded. “Do you have spare scrubs I could change into, please?”
--
"Of course. I need to change as well." He made a face, looking down at himself. I'll go get the scrubs. Can you keep an eye on him?" He smiled, then headed down to the supply closet.
“Yeah, yeah, of course.” She nodded and was reluctant to touch much, what with her hands still covered in dried blood and standing in her pyjamas.
--
Cal changed quickly, washing his hands, then came back with the scrubs for Sookie. "Nina wears this size and she's pretty short so it should be good." He nodded. "Locker room is down to the right. There's a shower in there." He held out the scrubs to her.
--
“Thanks. I’ll just be five minutes.” She was talking more to Colin than to Cal and she needed to clean herself up desperately. Sookie was feeling calmer, a little less rushed and hectic and like her brain was leaking from her ears. She showered and changed, splashing her face with cool water as the adrenaline surge from before was wearing off. After a few minutes, Sook padded back to the room, in her clean scrubs and shoes, having dumped her clothes in the trash.
--
Cal stayed with Colin, keeping an eye on his vitals as he waited for Sookie to return. He smiled when she came in. "Feeling human again?" He chuckled softly.
--
“Something close to it, yeah.” Sookie nodded and sat down beside the bed, facing Colin’s front. “How long will he take to be awake?” she asked, rubbing her eyes.
--
Cal shrugged. "It could take anywhere from a couple of hours to a few days. He seems to be in pretty good shape aside from the wounds so it'll most likely be sooner." He smiled.
--
“I’ll stay with him.” She said quietly. “Can you take my blood here?”
--
He nodded. "Sure. The typing is just a finger prick anyway." He smiled and then went to get the typing kit, coming back quickly.
-
Sook watched over Colin and let Cal do the prick test for her blood type, hoping that she was a match for him so he could get fresh blood.
--
Cal smiled and looked at the test, frowning for a second. "I think this one is bad. I'll be right back." He went and got another test. He got another drop of blood from her and frowned again. "Huh."
--
“What’s wrong?” Sookie frowned, sucking on her fingertip. “Am I sick or something?”
--
Cal shook his head. "It's of typing. According to this test you have no blood type." He frowned. "I'm going to have to draw some blood to run tests. I also want to check something.". He took another small sample from her and then a small sample from Colin. "I'll be right back." He then headed to the lab.
