This was going to be great. Grace had spent all afternoon getting ready for the date. She was of the mind that if you took that long to get ready you must be pretty ugly, but this was her first date with Ray. She had to look good. She took a bath, soaking for an hour. She didn't want to be stressed out before the date. Grace was so excited that she finally got to go out with Ray. It was so weird that she and Ray didn't go back to their time with the other kids. She now had to be here with her moms only being 2 years older than her.
She didn't mind, she supposed, it's not as if she had any choice over it. She had to just roll with the punches. Grace got out of her bath and went to do her hair. She wasn't sure what she was going to wear just yet. She had lots of long blonde hair that she had gotten from her mother. Grace wasn't really sure what she was going to do with her hair. She wanted to look perfect. This was going to be a good date. She was determined. Grace had had a crush on him since she was young. They had grown up together. She wanted to be his girlfriend. She was trying to decide how to do her hair when her mother came in the room.
"You are going to look beautiful." Quinn said, unable to keep the grin off her face. She was so happy that Grace was living with them. She was glad that her daughter hadn't gone back to her time. It was going to be amazing, raising her. Quinn hadn't gotten her chance with Beth, and she had her chance now, and she had a wonderful girlfriend, she was finally with the girl she had been in love with for nearly three years.
Grace beamed and nodded. "I know, Mama." She said, and Quinn stepped forward, to help her with her hair. They talked while she worked on it, curling it with a curling iron and putting some mousse in it so it would stay curly. Grace was loving getting to know her mom like this, she was a great mom, and now she was even closer to her age, they could talk. Get to know each other.
An hour later, she was ready for her date. Her hair looked amazing, and she had on a blue dress that she had borrowed from Quinn. She was so excited. When she heard the door, she had to work to not race there.
"Hi, Ray." She said, when she finally got the door open.
