Hans had been checking the network regularly since he'd arrived back in the past. Even though he refused to let anyone know that he was there, he wanted to know what was going on. So he hadn't missed Sophia's post. And he'd spent hours coming through the comments. He knew that it was almost impossible that the baby was his and it hurt him that the island had chosen to do this, but it seemed it liked to stab him in the heart whenever it could. He wasn't going to let Sophia suffer this alone, though. She wasn't technically alone. She had Tim and Clint and Mitchell, but that wasn't the same. He wasn't going to let her go through this without him. He waited until very late. When he was sure that everybody else would be asleep before heading out. He thought that there was a chance Steve and Maryanne might be awake, but he didn't worry about them. He knew routes through the mountains and the forest that didn't involve the trails. By the time he reached Stark Tower it was nearly 2 in the morning. He made his way inside and was thankful that JARVIS didn't make any kind of announcement or anything. At least none that he knew of. He found the apartment in which Sophia was staying easily enough and made his way inside very quietly. He went to her room and didn't quite shut the door, hoping not to wake her. He made his way over to the bed and slipped his hooded cap off, letting it fall to the floor. He removed his boots and his vest before climbing into bed in just his shirt and trousers, wrapping his arms around her. |
