"I don't need an adult to watch over me." He moved back from her this time. "You know that. We've been alone for too long to worry about stupid grown ups." He shook his head. "But I don't argue with the people around here. I just do what they tell me to do so I can be left alone." He ran his fingers through his hair.
"Besides, Alex isn't so bad." He actually liked her. She treated him better than the older versions of themselves.
