Steve noticed the way she approached him, almost like someone would try and approach a stray dog they were trying to get out of their yard. And it scared him, not of her, not of what she'd do, but because of how accurate it was. He wasn't much more than a scared animal right now. Unpredictable, easily scared, and very dangerous. He couldn't imagine why she'd want to put up with it and it all just got...heavy. Like the emotion and fear was literally a weight on his shoulders pushing him down until he finally couldn't handle it and sank down to the floor again, his back to the wall and head in his hands as his shoulders started to shake with soft sobs.
