Sookie hated mess but after the mess she'd stepped into in her new home here on the island, everything she was now looking at seemed like a palace. Gone were the cracks and peeling paint, she'd made new curtains and repaired cushions, cleaned her fingers to the bone. All that was left was the electrical components that made her want to step away and find her brother. She missed Jason and his too-many-blows-to-the-head way of looking at life. She missed a lot of people, really. But Sookie didn't like to wallow and instead was now hell-bent on getting her home wired up so she could find a store front ready to open up a bakery. Sam had taught her how to run a business and what she needed so all Sookie had to find was someone else who knew how to bake so she could have some help.
Izzy was due to arrive soon to help her and Sook wouldn't stop fretting and fussing about her new home. Gran had always taught her to be a good host meant setting out iced tea or lemonade and homemade cookies. Her Gran had always designated three of them as 'Sookie's cookies' and Sook had continued the tradition with her Gran's almond snickerdoodle recipe that always turned heads. Everything was ready for Izzy; Sook just hoped she showed up.
