Rae reveled in being able to finally get up out of bed and out of the townhouse, after nearly two long weeks of bedrest. It felt wonderful to go outside and feel the sunlight and wind on her face, and get a little bit of exercise, which was badly needed. As the male Ramses he'd quite liked the feel of his wife's softness and considering she'd fallen pregnant almost immediately, hadn't urged her to do any kind of strenuous exercise. As the female Rae and occupying her spouse's former body, however, she acutely felt her diminished strength and endurance. There wasn't a great deal she could do about that being five months gone with twins, but she could still do some cardiovascular exercise through walking, at least for the near future.
But however much she resolved to do more exercise, it was quite apparent to Rae by the time she reached the edge of the park that even walking would have to be done with more care than when she'd been Ramses. She was sweating and almost out of breath and felt generally exhausted, and it was only a few short blocks from the townhouse. Finding a bench just off the path, she paused to catch her breath and eased herself down onto the seat. Just for a few minutes' rest, she promised herself.
