"He was so afraid he was going to step on my feet" She laughed softly and shook her head, "It was beautiful. He would be as red as a tomato." Lillian watched Steven's face to see if he would react to any of their words another sad sigh escaped her lips when there was nothing. "Well he's worrying us anyways. I'm so angry at him!" Her feelings boiled over and the anger she had been trying to hide exploded out of her in one high pitched exclamation.
She took in a deep breath and let it out slowly. She hadn't let her anger out since the first night she had been here. "I'm sorry." She apologized softly,, "I have tried everything. I've even pleaded with him and nothing works. I have to believe that he wants to come back. The alternative is just too..." She shook her head and swallowed, "He will wake up, he's too stubborn to leave" They all knew how stubborn he could be.
Maryanne's chuckle brought a little laughter back to Lillian and she was able to shake off the dread that had overcome her, "I'm glad that he requested it" She wiped underneath her eyes and looked up at Steven with a soft laugh, "If it's as good as the one you just sang I might want to be there when he hears the second song" She squeezed his foot lightly and bit her lip.
