Steve waited until Peggy was close before letting go of her hand, instead wrapping his arm around her shoulders and tucking her in to his side. It may have been a little childish and probably not befitting a supersoldier but having that actual, physical connection was something he needed sometimes. To be able to feel someone there, touch them and feel the warmth of another body next to him. He'd missed it, in New York, everyone was so impersonal and he was a tactile person. He liked touching and being touched and it wasn't something anyone seemed to understand where he'd been, so he craved it now.
As soon as Peggy said his name Steve noticed the baby turn toward her quickly and he paused for a moment, watching him carefully. "...Steve." he murmured, the little looking back to him again. He looked to Peggy instead, "You don't think it could be?"
