Once the baby had settled and wasn't squirming around so much Steve looked up to Peggy, "Are you alright? That sounded hard." he asked softly. He was sure the little one hadn't meant to hit her and especially hadn't meant to hit her hard but they might have to look out for flying hands in the future. He glanced back at the little boy, rubbing his back gently. "You think so?" he asked, still a little surprised the baby even liked him. "It's alright love." he whispered to him, doing what Peggy said, looking down to the baby who took that moment to look back up at him. It was a strange sight, he'd swear they were related if he didn't know any better, but then he saw the way the little boy looked at him, love and trust and even admiration there and he couldn't help the slow shaky breath. He didn't really say anything but the emotion was there and he reached out toward Peggy, wanting, almost needing her closer too.
