Steve's eyes are still red and damp when she looks at him, even though the tear tacks on his cheeks are dry and cool. He doesn't really know how to tell his body that it's okay to cry and be vulnerable like that, especially around other people. Hell, he could probably count on one hand all the people who've ever actually seen him do it and even then it was usually only briefly. He was still quiet for a few moments, just letting his eyes take her in, watching her kind face while he tried to form the words, first in his head then in his mouth. "I'm...not always okay." he admit softly, blinking back tears again. "And I don't know how to fix it."
