Connor paused in his attentions and stared at the back of her head for a moment. "I don't think that's a good idea. The man needs to quit trying to hide from his problems at the bottom of a prescription bottle."
It was hypocritical of him to say that considering he'd nearly jumped to his death a month earlier. It had been a matter of days since Heather had vanished, leaving his life a wreck once again. Being mortal for a brief time when everyone had lost their special abilities he'd gotten roaring drunk and gone up to the top of the apartments to jump off the roof.
