WHO: Nerdanel and Harry Dresden WHAT: Empathy Bond! WHEN: Monday morning WHERE: Not far from Rivendell WARNINGS: TBD STATUS: Closed/Ongoing
This place was strange, and in every way unlike Valinor. But there were things about it that warmed Nerdanel's heart, and made her want to stay for a very long time. Most poignantly, the presence of her eldest son, who had always been dear to her heart. He was weary with many sorrows, and there were many questions she had not asked him in fear of pressing him too far, and opening wounds that were just beginning to heal.
But she had enjoyed being with him, even if they were simply reading and sitting silently in each other's company. It had been a long time since she had been around family, but she had not - and never would - forget how dear they were.
She had fallen asleep in the peaceful bedroom carved in a familiar elven way, the soft light of evening pouring into her window.
But she awakened someplace very different.
She sat up with a start, looking around her in fear and horror, her ears flattening as she looked first one direction, and then the other, her eyes falling onto a blue cord that bound her to a tallish man. Well, maybe not so tall by her standards, but by human standards, certainly. She could feel power around him, and that did not help to calm her nerves. Softly, she reached out a hand to lay on his shoulder, trying to read him as she did, but coming up with nothing.
