"No," Harry said firmly, "no." He took Briseis by the shoulders to hold her and make her look at him again. "It's got nothing to do with you, Briseis. What he did was cruel, and cold, and he shouldn't have because it's wrong. And you don't deserve that kind of thing." No one did. "But it wasn't a commentary on yourself, okay?" He sucked at motivational speeches.
But hey you couldn't be awesome at everything.
"He's a bastard, and he can't help that, but it doesn't excuse the behavior." And part of him gleefully said I told you so.
"But you're not a horrible person, you're a good person. A genuine one, and you should try not to take the things he said to heart."
