"I thought it would take me years to get into a place that I could be this close again." Death did that, to her at least. Though she owed part of that to Mac. Part that she could be this close to Clint right then.
A low rumble of a purr stroked to life in her chest. She did enjoy being petted in any context, quite a bit. "You'd be surprised. I'm pretty sure I'm not everyone's favorite flavor of koolaid."
In that moment Maryanne felt as content as any feline could. And she was quite sure she could stand there for hours. But she was pretty sure he couldn't. But... "Did you jump over the couch again?" She asked on a chuckle.
~~~~~~
"Well, fuck 'em." he smirked, giving her a quick hug and kissing her temple lightly, "You can have the spot here anytime you like." he told her with a small smile, leaning back to watch her when he heard that soft purring sound again. He couldn't help laugh, maybe even a tint of pink flushing his cheeks. "I might have."
~~~~~~
"Would it make you nervous at all if I told you that it would be the only one besides my own bed, that I snuggle into?" Yes, that was how far gone she was. So far he was the only one she was sleeping with. Besides actually just sleeping, and then there was Tony and AJ and Mitchell occasionally. And her son.
Her nose scrunched just a little, as she giggled. "Now are you just that excited when I come over or do you jump the couch all the time." She was teasing him, but only a little. It was cute, and Maryanne did like the idea of someone being that excited that she was knocking on their door.
~~~~~~
"I…might like that." he told her, though it did make him a little bit nervous at first, but as soon as he thought about it not being true, about her going to someone else's bed for anything more than comfort…he knew he'd get over those nerves.
He grinned, "Of course I am!" he gestured wildly, taking hold of her hand and tugging her toward the couch before flopping over the back and on to the cushions. "Plus it's easier than actually walking around it." he smirked, tugging on her hand again. "C'mooon you know you want to." he sing-songed, grinning over the back of the couch.
~~~~~~
"There is still Tony and Aj, because could you imagine the pouts I would get from him if I denied him the platonic snuggles? And Mitchell. Which is also plantonic." The vampire was more than a friend, but not in the sexual sense. It wasn't something she could easily explain. So it was best marked as 'plantonic' and that was all. It was his encouragement that had brought her here.
Maryanne chuckled as he tugged on her hand. Easing over the back of the couch at his beckoning. Careful where she landed, "I think that would have been a whole lot less graceful if I didn't have my feline grace." With elbows and knees in awkward places.
~~~~~~
"I know, don't mind if you have friends." he reassured quickly, kissing her cheek. By the time she rolled over the couch, far more carefully than he had, he was ready to catch her, though he really didn't need to. He helped her settle in to his lap, far more easily than he ever would have despite the acrobatics he was used to. "Would've been cute though, to see you flailing all over. And you're light enough, I think I could stand a two foot drop." he teased lightly.
~~~~~~
Maryanne chuckled lightly. "Well I was more thinking that you might be in a little bit of pain. But we can try it next time the island decides it's bored with having people with powers and shuts them off again." It was a surprise that she hadn't broken all her toes by the time that was over.
Settling over him, she rested her ear over his heart. As a thought came to her she chuckled. "It would have been a little more awkward if you were in a towel. And a whole lot harder for me to behave." It was a bit difficult as they lay there. He without a shirt and her in the simple white cami and black short shorts she wore for her 'uniform' at the pub. Not that she needed a uniform, but she felt less bad when she splattered something so simple with grease or something equally as staining.
