Spring had turned to summer since Tuor had arrived on this island. There was no denying the change of season - the hot sun beat down on his back as he climbed the rigging of his boat, making sure all the knots were tied and secure, and that the ship was safe to dock for the night. It was something he did every night, before leaving the boat, making sure it was in prime condition. He had no desire to take an unexpected swim in the ocean - not with some of the creatures he'd seen lurking out there in the deep - so he took every precaution that would bring him home to Idril.
Idril. They'd had their problems since they'd arrived here, but then, everyone did, and he was pretty sure it was impossible for a man to love a woman more. He'd been a bit worried about her lately, since Elrond had arrived. It had been a bit strange for him, as well, although he hadn't spoken of it. It saddened him to see his grandson so...unhappy. He wondered what sorrows the man had seen to make his countenance so sombre.
Hopping down from the boat into several inches of water, he made sure it was securely anchored, and threw his spare ropes over his shoulder as he made his way back towards Vinyamar.
He was a bit nervous at returning to the palace, because he knew that the Queen had brought back a book that had told all their stories, and he really had no desire to read it. And yet...he did. How could he deny that he was curious of the feats that his descendants had accomplished? It was full of things he could never know in his real life, and things that he both feared and desired to know at the same time.
Taking a deep breath, he noticed another person heading towards the beach, and held out a hand in greeting.
"Good evening," he called out, his voice friendly, but tired from the exertions of the day.
