"It was....boring." She made a face. "I grew up in the middle of what my mom calls the metromess. I was born and raised in Texas and the closest I've come to a horse is when I got my picture taken on a pony when I was 4." She chuckled. "I don't like football, I barely tolerate barbecue and spicy just ain't my cup of tea. I'm pretty much the anti Texan so you can imagine what it was like growing up there. And I'm about as unreligious as they come. So living in the buckle of the Bible belt was fantastic." There was no missing the sarcasm in her tone.
