Who: Jake & F'lar What: Discussing all things Pandora and Pern! Where: The pub When: After F'lar meets the elf Queen Warnings | Status: TBD | in progress
F'lar wasn't sure the meeting with the Queen had changed the situation at all. In fact it might have made their dealings with the elves somewhat worse. But there was naught to be done for it now except proceed with caution, and whatever wisdom could be gleaned from the circumstances. He was frustrated by it though, frustrated that a group of people could be so woefully stubborn. But he didn't hold it against them, they were beings that had lived for thousands of years and he couldn't ask them to abandon their ideas overnight, indeed he didn't want them to. He wanted to learn more about them, get information from them! What things they would know with a history that ran so deep.
If he could just get passed their ignorance and emotion.
You're going in circles, Mnementh interrupted his thoughts. Like a beast with three feet.
"I know, but it's all coming back to the same trail."
You'll find an answer. Mnementh, like the others of Pern, had faith in F'lar and trusted him. F'lar scratched Mnementh's eyeridges fondly for an extended moment, smiling at his beloved companion. "Go on," he said, "before you get stuck in these tiny streets." He watched the dragon heft his massive weight, buffeted by the air currents of his wings as the dragon went airborne. The pub was still a few blocks away, but Mnementh was too large to fit comfortably on the city streets, forcing him to keep his wings close to his body. It was easier to part ways in open places than walk with the dragon through town.
F'lar watched him soar, then turned casually and made his way to the pub to meet with Jake Sully of Pandora. Entering the pub but a few minutes later, F'lar turned his amber eyes around and picked out the face of the man in the tiny pictures. He joined him at the table and offered a slight bow in acknowledgement.
"Evening," he said, feeling more or less relieved to finally engage in conversations he wanted to have, verses ones he needed to.
