WHO: F'nor and Turgon WHAT: Random meeting WHEN: Friday evening WHERE: The streets of town WARNINGS: TBD STATUS: Closed/Ongoing
F'nor was rather surprised at how well and how quickly he had healed. All of his wounds were closed, the skin had grown back seemingly overnight. He wasn't sure what kind of medicine they had here, but he was pretty sure that it was far and above better than what they had back home. He still hurt, he itched where the skin was healing, and he was stiff in all of his joints, but he had no doubt he was going to make it, and Canth seemed to be feeling the same way.
Sitting up, stretching a bit to try to stretch his tired, injured muscles, he got to his feet, walked once across the room and back, flexing his toes. He wasn't perfect, but he was well enough.
I itch, Canth said in annoyance. I want to bathe in the sea.
Well, it was an island, they said, so surely there was a beach not too far away? He could get Canth down to the water, soak a little himself, scrub away some of Canth's itching skin, and just rest a while in the sun. Some sun and relaxation away from this gloomy, sterile hospital was all he needed to cure himself the rest of the way.
Dressing himself in the scarred clothing he had been wearing, and pulling on and lacing his boots, he followed Canth's directions to his location and led him out into the street.
I can fly, The dragon said. F'nor had no doubt that he could, but he was not going to take the risk to his dragon, so he simply reached up and scratched his eyeridges adoringly.
"I know you can, but I think we'll walk it. I'm not sure I'm up for flying," he said, to save the dragon's pride.
I would not let anything happen to you, Canth said, seeming almost a little hurt.
"I know it," he said with a smile, "But we'll just walk today, okay?"
Canth wasn't sure why they had to walk, but eventually consented and followed his rider at a rather undignified walk into the main streets of the city.
I look more impressive when I fly," Canth complained, and F'nor couldn't help but laugh.
"I think you look impressive enough no matter how you move," he smiled. "After all, you are the biggest brown in all of Pern."
I am. He said proudly, spreading his wings a little to indicate his pride. And you are the smartest rider.
F'nor chuckled, then leaned against his dragon, taking a bit of a breather. Maybe he wasn't quite as healed as he thought.
