"Says the warrior prince." Her tone might have been somewhat skeptical. But she was smiling as she ducked around the branch.
Kishan took her hand after they got past the branch. "Dhiren was the warrior, I was simply trained to be one."
"Still makes you a warrior prince in my book." Amy would accept no argument on that point. "You can fight, yes?"
"Yes, I can." He nodded. "I can protect myself, and others."
"So you're a warrior," she returned with a nod, setting that fact out definitively. "Just accept it."
Kishan chuckled and smiled. "Yes, Miss Amy. You are right." He bumped her lightly with his shoulder. "I'm assuming that's quite often the case."
"Always." The smile she gave him was superior. "You might as well get used to that right off the bat." Tone turned teasing again. "You won't win an argument with me."
Kishan laughed. "I was also trained to be a leader and world class mediator, Miss Amy. I can win any argument, if I so wish."
"You didn't train to argue with me," she corrected. "No one could have prepared you for that."
"That is very true." He nodded. "Given the fact that when I was trained to win arguments, your great, great, great, great, great grandparents weren't born yet."
Shoulder nudged him. "So you agree, you're not prepared." A grin. "And your arguments are likely a bit outdated...."
He nodded. "That does not mean I couldn't win against you, bilauta."
"You may as well just accept it, Mr. Kishan," Amy shrugged. "I always win."
"We shall see, Miss Amy." He grinned. "I think we've had quite enough adventure for today, don't you?"
"Backing down already..." Tongue clicked disapprovingly, but her expression quickly lightened. "We'll save it for another day."
He nodded. "And we will have another adventure. I just need some time to rest." He sighed softly. "The healing process takes a bit out of me, even for minor injuries."
She squeezed his arm. "Then let's get you back home." He could rest and get back to full strength. "Do we need to get you anything along the way? Soup, tea?"
Kishan shook his head. "I have some tea in my apartment. I'll need a meal shortly after I wake, but that's not something you can help me with." He smiled softly.
"Of course." He would go hunting. It wasn't something Amy necessarily wanted to see. "Then I'll just see you home."
"Isn't it supposed to be the other way around, Miss Amy?" He chuckled softly.
"You rescued me," Amy answered. "And you're recovering from injury. Therefore I get to take you home."
"Thank you." He nodded. "Perhaps you could stay for a cup of tea?"
"I'd like that," she agreed, nodding. "Thank you."
He walked a little bit slower than his pace before, but not much. He smiled and squeezed her hand, holding it rather than having it on his arm now. "I live in the first building."
"Not even in my building." There was a mocking pout in response to that. "I'll have to make sure to visit you."
"Or I could visit you from time to time." He smiled softly. "I would say that I am not attached to my building but I do have a dear friend there."
"Do you have a lot of very dear friends?" Amy questioned. "How long have you been here?" She wasn't jealous.
"I only have one. I haven't been here that long. Elena and I spent some time together shortly after my visit. We went for a walk, spent time together talking. She and I have a great deal in common." He sighed.
"Did you pull the tiger trick on her, as well?" Eyes were twinkling. "Or was that just me?"
"She does not know about that part of me. She simply knows that I am cursed." He cleared his throat.
She squeezed his hand. "Then I'm honored you shared with me." So quickly, too.
He smiled and kissed her cheek again. When they got to his building, he opened the door for her.
Amy ducked inside, then fell into step beside him as they headed up the stairs. "And since you shared with me, I"ll share with you. Anything you want to know."
Kishan was thankful for the wall leading up along the side of the stairs as he headed up with Amy. He kept one hand to steady him. "You are Celt, correct?"
