Perhaps she was taking it well, but what was the point in freaking out until she knew exactly what was going on, he deserved that much from her, and it wasn't as if she enjoyed being angry.
The more he spoke the more the got it. It made sense and perhaps it was all bollocks, just him putting spin on it to make it look better, but from their time together on the train she understood that he wanted to help people and she genuinely believed that. Perhaps a lot had changed since he'd first got involved in politics, perhaps it had corrupted him, destroyed his soul, or however you wanted to put it. Or perhaps there was something seriously wrong with her, perhaps she really was fucked in the head because it sounded reasonable. She wanted him to be this amazing man, who saw injustice and tried to stop it. The man who'd do anything to make things better and she genuinely didn't care that what he'd done was illegal.
She found herself smiling. This was the Malc she wanted, driven and determined and doing what needed to be done. "Yeah the public are a bunch of fucking idiots who shouldn't be trusted with fucking X-Factor, let alone electing a government."
She shifted a little bit closer to him. "I think you did the right thing," she said honestly. "And I really don't think you need to worry about going back to that. You're not fucked, not here." She took another big gulp of vodka, Dutch courage or something. as if it might made making some stupid clumsy move on him easier. She didn't know what she was doing, he was so easy to talk to, and every time he talked about fucking the Tories the desire to place herself quite solidly in his lap flared even sharper in her stomach, but this wasn't how it was done. Christ she was British, she had to be pissed and in a nightclub at 3am, that was how it worked, wasn't it? That like the law, not two people sitting on a sofa with the lights on, talking about important things. Plus there was the fact he was so utterly different to Lex. He was this fucking alpha male, dominant and impressive and Jesus she liked him so bloody much.
She took a breath, seemingly out of no where. A moment of 'fuck it' because what was the worse that could happen? He'd turn her down yet again, and they'd ignore it again and then, given time she'd probably stop. It'd be fine. "For what it's worth I still think you're pretty fucking amazing," she informed him, and then, just like that she was pressing her lips against his, like a clumsy teenager just waiting to be pushed away.
