"no good at following orders, I see," she said with a grin, when she found him leaning against the wall, not that she'd thought for a minute he'd sit on the doorstep. It didn't like a very Malcolm thing to do, but she couldn't resist suggestion it.
She winced at the mention of him knowing what was going to happen while she sipped her vodka. "Yeah, probably shouldn't have mentioned any of that, should I? Isn't it like messing with time or something?" Another drink, because she really hated thinking about all that, it just made her head throb.
"Three years?" she repeated, moving a bit closer, trying to work out if he looked any different, though she was sure he didn't, but then what was three years, really? Still she felt a sudden need to sit down. And there was here thinking not seeing him for a few months had been a long time. "Did you get your job back then? Or were you more...well I'd say impartial but you've never struck me as the impartial type thinking about it."
