Stefan gave her a thoughtful nod, pressing his lips together in concern. Despite everything, he couldn't help but care about her - but he cared about his brother too, and he was clearly hurting, too. He wanted to be angry, but he still didn't really know the full story.
"Yeah, well- I don't know, Damon was typically vague, but- yeah," he told her, giving her a bit of a shrug. He knew what Damon was like, but Elena wasn't exactly coming across as a completely innocent party, either. He didn't want to judge too quickly.
"Oh, you know. Surviving, I guess," he told her. Things were still topsy-turvy, but he supposed he was getting kind of used to the island. There were some decent people around, and he didn't have to hide what he was anymore.
