Elenwë was feeling better after the emotional distress of the weekend, and was out enjoying the lovely day while Turukáno was doing...whatever it was he was doing. That was how it had always been for them - their love had been true enough that there was no need to know the other's location at all hours of every day. They had their own interests, and they were free to pursue them as they wished. They came together in the evenings, usually, to talk or to paint, or simply to dine together.
So she was walking down the street, humming a little to herself, when she saw a very odd sight - a man leading a cat on a leash.
What an odd thing!
Being an Elf, she was, of course, very fond of all animals, and she knew well enough that most cats did not like such things. So she stopped and watched as the man came closer, then hailed him.
"Good day, sir! How ever do you get the cat to walk on a lead?"
