"Uhuh, well, that doesn't surprise me. I had you down as someone who would enjoy being a little bit evil," Eames smiled, feeling just a little bit satisfied at seeing the pink flush in her cheeks. She was beautiful. It was nice to spend so much time with someone beautiful.
He laughed again, a proper laugh. "Well, if it just happens to fall sometime near my birthday and there just happens to be cake, I mean, I'm not going to not turn up," he grinned. "I can't say no to cake. And I know between now and then you're going to try and flirt me into submission... Maybe I should have resisted a little more."
The smile that had slipped momentarily as he drifted into memories of his own child returned, maybe even a little brighter than before. "Well, it can't hurt I suppose. And, well, it would be nice. I haven't- it would be. If you don't mind." Eames stammered awkwardly through his sentences. "I'd like that. I'll just-" he shoved another spoonful of icecream into his mouth, wincing at the onset of brain freeze. "Plus, he's your baby. I should meet him to make sure I'm worthy of some ongoing flirtation with his mum."
