Ramses waited for Calleigh by the low wrought iron fence that separated the walkway and stairs to the townhouse's lower ground floor and tried not to fidget. Truthfully this was a big decision and he'd never done anything quite like it before. There had never been a need to establish a completely separate residence from his family back home, he had no wife or family then and could remain under the same roof as his parents and 'sister'. But now he had both a pregnant sister in law who was due to deliver twins any day, and a wife who would deliver twins of their own by Christmas. That meant their apartment was far too small and something more suitable was required.
This townhouse would fit their needs perfectly, both in present and years in the future assuming they stayed on the island. It reminded him strongly of the townhouses in London he'd stayed in over the years, both the one belonging to his parents and those of friends and relatives, though the features had obviously been updated to 21st century standards. A bit large but it would allow everyone their own work and living spaces.
He spotted his wife rounding the corner, her hair lit up by the late afternoon sun and he had to remind himself to breathe. How had he ever thought Nefret the most beautiful woman he'd laid eyes on? Calleigh put her and every other woman to shame, the pregnancy just now beginning to change her figure making her look just that more beautiful. He'd noticed that special 'glow' with Bridget as well though not to the same degree.
"Hello," he enfolded her in a loose embrace and gave her a brief kiss on the lips before looking her over. "How was your day? You look wonderful, but perhaps a bit tired."
