Ramses and Silver
It was a welcome distraction, the eggs. At first, he had been freaked out when he had seen them. They were proof that someone here had invaded his privacy, someone had come into his room and lain eggs in front of his bed. But after a few deep breaths, he had calmed down. Eggs were harmless, weren't they? They rarely bit or hurt anyone. Maybe Maryanne had put them there. She had seemed so nice. But, no, surely she had other things to do, better things than to look after some weird Canadian guy.
Silver had followed the trail. He had picked up a basket. Had someone prepared it for Easter? As a surprise maybe? He smiled. It was a nice gesture. It was something close to normal. And what was even better: they hadn't excluded him. For a moment, he felt a tiny bit less lonely.
