Kishan had woken up very early, even before dawn, and couldn't get back to sleep. Rather than bothering Kytana, he slowly got up and went about his morning routine before deciding to go and investigate the jungle. He made sure to have his phone on his person so that Kytana could contact him when she woke up. He'd spent a lot of time in the forest but hadn't really gone into the jungle, afraid of the memories it would bring of home. He'd spent over 300 years in the jungle in India and he did miss it a great deal. Wandering through the plants, he smiled as he came across several of the trees that were native to home. Though he wondered why the coconut trees and the banana trees had yet to bear any fruit. He would have to see if one of the scientists or farmers could answer that question. Surely it was time for the bananas at least. Ten minutes into his wandering, he started to get a massive headache. It was like someone had run a hot sword through his skull. He fell to his knees and put his hands to his head, trying to ward off the pain. It was too much. As he reached for his phone, he lost consciousness, laying on the jungle floor. It was nearly an hour later when he finally woke up. He didn't recognize his surroundings. This wasn't the ancient land he'd been sent to. Where was Anamika? He'd been with her the last he remembered and now he was in the middle of a jungle. He found the phone in his pocket and looked it over. He certainly hadn't had that before. He did know how to use it, though. It was familiar to him, but he couldn't remember why. He sent out the message, hoping someone would answer. As he typed, the name Kytana kept playing in his mind, and he knew that he had strong feelings for her. But that was all he could remember. |
