Ah, the sea. To be so near to it was the one thing in this place that Tuor loved most, with the possible exception of Itarillë and his son. But while the latter two were currently bringing him much turmoil, the sea soothed his troubles. It seemed that he could never know true peace while sundered from it, and even in his dreams the gulls sang to him.
Today, he stood in the surf, wait deep, a fishing rod in hand that he continued casting out into the water. He had as yet had any luck, but it was not for need of food that he was fishing, so he cared not. It was simply something to occupy his hands as he stood here, searching for peace to his troubles, and answers to the questions that plagued him.
He had left early this morning, before Itarillë and Eärendil had risen. Last night had been cruel in many ways, not the least the fact that his desires for Itarillë were growing with every moment, and she seemed to have no intention of diffusing them. This, of course, made sense from her point of view, he was sure. He was her husband, and he was neglecting his duties to her as such. But to him...to him they had just met, and he would not treat any lady in such a manner. Especially the daughter of King Turgon and the princess of Gondolin. Tuor, son of Huor, did not have a death wish, nor did he have any desire to dishonor a noble lady.
He sighed, and reeled in his latest cast to no avail. He was not going to catch anything today, and Itarillë would be wondering where he was. Walking back to shore, soaked to the waist but caring not, he crouched to put his tackle back in the box he had purchased for that purpose, and began to make his way back to town, but not first without turning for one last, longing look at the sea.
