Isabel was not a morning person, unless she had something to do. And sometimes not even then. But she had promised to take over the cafe since Maryanne wasn't feeling up to it and she always kept her promises. She'd been organizing and inventorying and figuring out exactly what was had and what she could do with it for the last several days. She had been cooking meals for anybody that came in looking for something to eat in the process. She knew that her food wasn't as good as Maryanne's but she hadn't been getting any complaints so she was happy. She got to the cafe just as the sun was coming up and got breakfast started. It wasn't going to be the huge buffet she had planned for after the full moon, but she could at least do some of the work. She wasn't sure if she'd still be getting baked goods now that Amanda wasn't running the bakery anymore, so she set out to make her own muffins. Cinnamon spice and orange cranberry were the only ones she knew how to make. Once she had about a dozen of each done, she set them on the counter to cool, then went out to the dining room to make sure everything was clean and set up for anybody that wanted to come in. She hoped that the smell of the muffins would waft out into the street and entice people to come in. |
