Despite her distaste for either the question or the way he had posed it, Brother Justin refrained from apologising for his curiosity. Instead he simply listened to her response, quietly and thoughtfully. There was a lot of information there, but what he took away in regards to her was that she was officer of sorts in a world far removed from this one. Despite his world being closer, perhaps, he he too had that feeling of being removed. Something was missing here, and other things, too, if he was being honest with himself. He could relate to much of what she had said in a roundabout way though. Faith and governance, or church and state, weren't completely separate in his world or his time either, so the idea of being in service to both did not phase him. He'd spent most of his life serving God, which had been, in some ways, a service to his rotten country. But all of that had changed for him. Despite any connections he could make though, Justin didn't dwell on things too long.
"That sounds like a truly noble position," he said, his smile still persisting. "How do you use this force, this energy?" As a man who could make things happen through sheer force of will, he was more than curious. Perhaps they really weren't that far removed.
