Normally Ric would have texted Stefan. Especially after the bombshell Damon had just dropped regarding Stefan and his bitch of a sire. However his phone wasn't exactly in working condition at the moment, having been smashed in Damon's hand.

And, unwilling to leave things alone, Ric had decided to go see Stefan in person. He wanted to know just what the hell was going through his mind. Wanted to know what could possibly make him choose Katherine. Was it just that Elena was with Damon now? All of the Elenas were with someone else.

Knocking on the door, Ric waited for an answer. He just hoped Stefan was there.

	Stefan had been wallowing in his booze for most of the day, so when he heard the knock the door he made his way slowly over to the door. He swung it open and without a word headed back over to the couch. "Say your peace" he said as he flopped back down on the couch, turning his bottle of scotch up again and taking another long swig. 	Oh. Lovely. A drunk Stefan. Just what Alaric wanted to see. "I just had some drinks with Damon," he began, cautiously moving forward. He didn't want to just jump to asking Stefan why the hell he thought it was a good idea to choose Katherine Pierce. "I realized I hadn't seen you in awhile." When Stefan heard him mention Damon's name he knew just what had happened. Even drunk Stefan wasn't that oblivious to what was going on around him. Still he knew Ric only had his best interests at her heart, so he smiled at his friend's words and nodded his head in agreement. "Yes we haven't talked much have we?".

"How have you been?" he asked, showing his concern for the other man's well being.

	"Not at all," Ric answered. "Most of it's my fault, though." And he would gladly take the blame, knowing where it came from. "Jenna's here," he explained. 	Stefan smiled softly, but it did not reach his eyes. "I can understand that" he agreed, as he leaned back on the couch and took another drink of his whiskey. It was obvious he wasn't in his usual optimistic spirits, but he didn't push the issue any. He just pushed all of his own thoughts down. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Stefan let out a sad sigh and just shook his head. "Now that's the question of the day, isn't it?" he said sadly. Stefan could see the look of concern on his friend's face and it just made things even worse. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Stefan softened his facial features a little more and finally opened up some. "I just hate that I let Damon down....again. I mean I convinced myself Katherine had changed, and then things just went completely wrong....I just can't handle being alone anymore" he rambled on. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

"Damon doesn't want you to be alone." At least Ric didn't think he did. "But do you really think Katherine has changed? Could change? She cornered me in the bar a few weeks ago and kept making little barbed statements about Jenna...and how I was going to have to put her down eventually."

He supposed part of that could be put down to the fact that she and Isobel were friends, but... "Has she really changed? Or does she just want you back?" She always had.
