"I see. Sure, it sounds very useful," he nodded, wondering silently if this was how they had ever found a way out of slavery as an option for help around the home. It was kind of a heavy topic for dinner though, so he managed to keep it inside his head.
"Good. I'm glad to hear it, he does me so proud," he beamed, and then shook his head lightly. "No, no, let him rest. He'll just get all excited again and ask me questions about space. Which is great, but you know. In the morning it's great," he was sure she'd understand that as a mother. There was definitely a time for excited conversation, and kid's bedtime was never that time.
"It's okay. I'm far from the first person to endure it, and I won't be the last." There was no point in denying it, no matter how awful it was. "Plus, I have you, and all kinds of great friends too. It'll be okay, huh?"
