Maybe it was the shock of the alcohol draining out of his system, or maybe it was the sincerity in her voice when she confirmed her feelings yet again, but Alexander felt as though his emotions might swallow him whole. It was more than he could possibly have hoped for. His heart ached for her - quite literally in that moment.
"I didn't know!" he told her, mostly into her hair and he held her close in his embrace. "I thought... I thought you just... really liked... charters," he realised how fucking stupid that sounded when said aloud, and he was soon giggling instead.
