Maybe he was blind, but Alexander really hadn't known what sort of reaction he ought to expect. It was plainly expressed on her face, though - he didn't even need her words to see the truth of her feeling written there.
His own stressed look relaxed into absolute relief. She understood. She more than understood, she.. she loved him, too. The look of relief changed to a proper smile, and he didn't hesitate to cross the room and get closer to her again.
"You love me, too?" he repeated, his voice pitching a little as if he just couldn't believe what he was hearing.
"Yeah, there's nothing else you have to promise me. That's enough. More than enough," he nodded. "Oh God, you've no idea how long I've wanted to tell you that," he admitted with a soft laugh, before finally giving in to the space between them. He stepped forward and wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close into an embrace.
