"I'm overriding your procedure, Lyla. Take the scans," Miguel said before Sarah had even finished speaking so that Lyla wouldn't get a chance to reply, "and let Sarah think, okay? This isn't easy to deal with."
"Of course, Miguel," the holoagent replied, and then repositioned herself so that she was standing at eyelevel with Sarah. Her feet appeared to be a good few inches above the ground, but that had never stopped her before.
"Please look straight ahead while I perform the scan. I will use the regular scanning procedure for your eyes, rather than the one I use for Miguel's eyes. Please try to keep from blinking as much as possible." Lyla then leaned in close and looked into Sarah's eyes. "Scan will commence in 3, 2, 1."
While that was going on, Miguel went over to where his glasses were sitting and put them on once he'd taken out his contacts. His eyes would be more sensitive than usual for the next few hours, and the glasses were less irritating for them than the lenses.
