Even after all this time here, she still found it strange to meet new people. Wanda had reserved the friendly chatter for the cafe and the magic sessions. The weight of loss still wore down most efforts to extend her social life. More people in her life meant more people she could lose. Her reluctance to engage meant hadn't quite gotten used to meeting people from different times and different worlds. Being in Paris had made the connection real, had let her see the places the people she engaged with came from. But it was nonetheless strange to find yourself in front of a man whose life had been so different from her own.
"Wanda, yes. It is a pleasure, please come in," she stepped aside to allow him to come through. "Can I offer you a drink? Coffee?"
