Who: Loki and Open
What: Arriving back on the station and a reflection on changes
Where: One of the parks (whichever you prefer)
When: Early afternoon
Status: Open
Warnings: None so far

Things had changed since his latest new batch of memories. This time it had been different. Dying had been terrible. The state he was now in had marked him forever. But dying had not impacted his view as much as his time in the TVA. Three lives now. Lived in parallel. He was glad he was where he was. Dying. Or being rejected and forgotten. No, not quite rejected. It had heard nonetheless, especially with what was at stake. Sylvie's actions, his own actions, it had changed the universe, hadn't it? There was a dread that stayed with him. He wanted to know what had happened. He wanted to know if everyone was okay. But he couldn't.

There was something he could impact though: something that was important. The people he had started to care about here. He hadn't always been the most appreciative, had he? The thoughts were always in the back of his mind. Sometimes they made him pause, made him change what he was about to do. But old habits died hard. Change came by slowly. But one thing he had changed was the time he spent on the planets. He had wrapped up a lot of his business there. Had not picked up anything else. Less time spent on things that he did not need.

Today, he came back from his apartment on the capital. He had sold two further properties but this one he would keep. With the tesseract in hand, he arrived in one of the parks. Blue shimmer. Quick travel. Then he let the stone vanish and took a look around.

Reeve and Loki

Gods, there was no times when he didn't enjoy reading. Reeve sat at the tree's stump on the park of Wheel... Which was it? He sat there reading 'The Grape Of Wrath' for his... Third time now? It was one of his favorites. This was his break from everyone, even Mack. While he loved her with all his heart, he just wanted to be by himself every once in a while. Mostly to give himself some time. If that made sense?

Then he felt the energy of the tesseract. It caused his eyes to widen, as it was a fairly unknown energy to him. Tossing his book down, the young man jumped on to his feet, standing almost at attention. Ready for anything, right? But maybe not ready for the arrival of his Godfather.

"U-Uncle Loki?" Reeve's stance softened drastically. "Or... I mean, Loki?" Reeve was unsure if Loki knew of him, even if he was the one to deliver him. "I.... Uh... Greetings.." Awkward as ever. Gods, he wished he knew how not to be awkward. "H-how do you fare?"

Uncle Loki? He froze for a second. His eyes darted to the man who had spoken. Thankfully, he didn't look like Hela nor like Thor. The shocks of surprising new family members were hardly new to him. May they be adopted or not. That didn't mean he wished for more. His family was already big enough. There were enough young minds to surround himself with. He didn't think he needed more of them.

"Ah. Uncle, hmm? Please don't tell me father had another child," he said drily. His tone wasn't as reserved as it would have once been. There was a hint of humour in it that everyone who knew him well would detect. "I don't really need to protect this station from another murderous goddess."

Ah, he didn't recognize him, then again, why would he? He's been a baby since before his little trip through time. That and he must have too busy to read his post when he got here. But still, it made Reeve fell a bit nervous about.

"Well, no. More like, Godfather." Reeve trailed off a little bit there at the end. "I'm, uh, Reeve Adler, Scarlet and Blank's son? Just y'know, from about twenty years from now. So, no, no murderous goddesses, just me." He smiled a little before he felt a bump on his leg. "Oh! And Binx, Binx is here too." "Hello!"

"Ah..." People from their world seemed to have a tendency to call non-relatives uncle and aunt. Maybe it was genetic. Who knew. When the boy acknowledged the robot cat, all it got from Loki was a glance. He did not care about soulless machines. The same way he had not cared about Katherine's animals at the start. But his daughter's fondness of them as well as some of their spirit had slowly changed that over the time. Some of them he still considered pests, others, however, he held some affection for.

"I recognise your picture now." He had seen it on the network. While Loki followed most things that happened, he hardly got involved. He was of the opinion that most did not want to converse with him and if they did, they knew how to seek him out or write a message. "You arrived here a while ago, haven't you?"

"Yeah.." If Loki had spoken that aloud, Reeve would have laughed a little given that he was born and raised here. He'd only been to his own world a few times, if that. But, that was neither here nor there. Reeve thought of him as family, him, Shannon, Kat, The Losers, and everyone else. They meant the world to him. When only given a glance he robotic cat narrowed his eyes a little bit before rolling them, Binx felt himself endearing. But, it was better to keep his mouth shut than to anger the God.

It wasn't that Reeve didn't want to converse with him, it was just.. "Yeah, about six months or so? I... I'm sorry I never reached out to you." He vaguely knew of what happened during this time. "I.. Uhm, I know you're really busy." He shrugged his shoulders slightly. "And, I didn't want to be a bother to you, I guess." His face turned a little red as he looked down and away from his Godfather. "I'm sorry."

Loki folded his arms behind his back. Standing tall. Regal. It was a habit. Something you needed if you wanted to command respect. Everything about the life he had once led had been about respect once. Loki watched as the young man stumbled upon his own words and then went red in the face. In the god's mind, the kid still had a lot of growing up to do.

"Am I that intimidating to you?" he asked, his tone neutral with a hint of curiosity. Some timelines were vastly different from this one. His own granddaughter had not known him because he was dead in her world. "Or has life not treated you kindly?" When people displayed a lack of self-esteem like this child did, it often had a reason. Bad experiences. Rejection. It let teenagers never escape their insecurities. He knew that well enough.

Binx nearly turned his demeanor completely, but a quick scan showed what was going on. Reeve did respect Loki, though not through command, but through knowing him, him earning it. As awkward as he seemed to be, there was a backbone there. And, it showed now as he straightened his back and looked up to gaze into Loki's eyes.

"No." Reeve spoke firmly. "You don't intimidate me, and my life has been alright." His eyes stayed looked onto Loki's. "You taught me so much, and I have reverence for you, yes." He stood like a stone, nearly turning angry by his Godfather's implications. But, after a moment, and realizing what he was doing, and who he was speaking to, his stance softened a little. "It's just... I finally got what I wanted."

Hot tempered or maybe just a sore spot. Loki remained calm as he assessed the situation. He stored the words and behaviour given to him, built up a picture of the his friend's son in his mind. "Ah, and what is that?"

More of a sore spot. Reeve wasn't much of a hot temper like his parents. He realized what he felt Loki was doing; testing him, as he had done throughout his life, though it wasn't something he would speak of. That fact alone calmed him down, and it showed as his stance softened even more.

"I'm sorry.." Loki was right in his earlier assessment, Reeve did have a lot to learn, but he was only 21, so.. "Love." Yeah, it was corny, and he knew it, but it was the truth. "There's a gi-- woman, that I've loved since we were both young. She's in this time, too. And, I finally mustered the courage to ask her to be with me. And she said yes." The thought of that alone made him smile.

There had been no test, just two questions formed by experience and a new outlook on himself and those around him. He had intimidated his own child when he had first met her and he had given her all the reason not to shed her fear for him that day. Now young mortals had become his grandchildren. Another mortal was his niece. And one part mortal shared his bed. Things were different now. For centuries, he had wanted to prove his greatness to the world and control everyone who thought otherwise. He needed to be seen a certain way. While he was still hardly someone whose ambition stopped at raising a family, the circle of those whose opinions mattered had become smaller. And those opinions in return had become more important. He did not wipe away someone's criticism because it did not match his own. It did not mean he was an expert at accepting it but it was a step.

"Ah..." Loki with an amused smile. So many who were here seemed to have set their eyes on it. His view on it had changed. He still couldn't understand the idealism with which some threw themselves into relationships. But he saw his daughter's pain, saw the blossoming romance that Bill, Eddie and Richie had formed and knew that as much as he had tried to fool himself once ever letting go of Shannon wasn't something he even wanted to consider. "Matters of the heart can bring a lot of pain so courage is sometimes required." The smile was still there but it wasn't unfriendly.

Reeve was never one for too much social interaction, so cues like what Loki gave him kind of went over his head. Sure, he had his own little group of friends, but he was mostly shy and introvert. Then again, this version of his Godfather seemed... Different, from the one he knew. Multiverse stuff, maybe? He didn't know. Though, Reeve watched him as the much older God seemed to be lost in thought for a moment, trying his best to see what cues he could follow, all while trying not look as though he was searching for them. Once again, this young man had a lot to learn.

"Uh.. Yeah." His face turned slightly red just at the thought of Mack, but it vanished just as quickly. "Yeah, I know. Like I said, I've loved her for years, and, seeing her with others hurt a lot. But, I didn't act on it because we were best friends and I didn't want to lose that, y'know?" Reeve nearly stopped himself, but why not be honest? He had never told his parents about these feelings. But, Loki was more of 'neutral' party. He was the one who helped with his birth, and brought his mom back afterwards. Reeve smiled back to him. "If I may ask, do you feel that for Aunt Shannon? If not, please, dismiss my question.."

He huffed a smile at the question. No, that was nothing he wanted to talk about. His feelings were private. He would not let a stranger be part of it. "I think your parents are better people to talk to when it comes to matters like these," Loki finally answered. He wasn't comfortable with the conversation. He also wasn't comfortable with the idea that his own daughter had no father he could say the same about. That thought made him even less comfortable in his own skin. Did she regret having someone like him as a father?

Right. As of right now, they were strangers, they hadn't known each other the twenty years of the young man's life. Reeve felt bad for even asking such a question, he knew he shouldn't, but part of him felt that he had to. But, Reeve respected Loki's opinion. "I... Sorry. Yeah, you're right, I should probably ask them or some others. For another moment he watched his Godfather's face, did he strike a nerve? That was not his intention.

"No, no, you're right, I should ask them instead of you. I went too far with that question. I apologize." He said, rather meekly, also bowing lightly. He was so familiar with his own version of Loki, that he got ahead of himself. He didn't mean to. Gods, he was always so bad at this sort of thing, talking to people. "Alright, uh... So, where did you just come from?" His smile widened a little bit, hoping to change the subject completely from last one, as he did care about his Godfather, even if it was the past and or different version of him.

Loki watched the young man stumble over his own words. In the god's mind, he was right. That question had been out of line. A nod acknowledged the apology. "The capital. The unrests haven't died down yet and I fear it's only getting worse. The Scurv don't know how to handle the revolt and the people are... well, many are desperate." Loki stayed away. He didn't interfere. But that did not mean he did not watch.

The nod he was given let Reeve know he went to far to ask something so personal, at least, for now. Binx nearly went on a rant, but held his little robotic cat tongue; Reeve was having a hard enough time meeting his mentor for the first time, again. He didn't want to add to it.

"Alright" Reeve paused as he lightly stroked his chin as he listened to Loki, he knew some details of this time, but only through hearsay and stories. But, he also felt the hesitance in his Godfather's words. Reeve would not push that aspect of it.

"Hm. Do you have any ideas on how either side might resolve the revolt?" A neutral and open question, Reeve hoped, as he had no intention of interfering himself, but there was a definite want to learn another aspect of insight to diplomacy. Especially from an outside prospective. So, why not ask one of the best?

He had seen the future, was checking it quite frequently. Not because he wanted to get involved in the conflict but because he wanted to protect his family from threats. His foresight wasn't fool proof. He didn't see everything. It had been a hard thing to learn.

"Violence..." he stated. "It's likely to end in blood. Some conflicts run too deep to be solved with words."

Reeve was from the future, but the more he was here, the more he recognized there were different variations to what he knew. Also given he was, what? Two years old during this time?

Reeve nodded at Loki's answer, as it was rather obvious. "Yeah, that is kind of what I figured. No revolution ends with people just talking it over." That was what he knew from his history lessons. Though, he wasn't truly a fan of the violence that would occur. "If you had to pick a side, which would you take?" Another neutral question, Reeve was simply curious. Though, he did wonder on another aspect to this, how would it affect them here on the Station?

Loki raised an eyebrow at the question. The line of question reminded him of his daughter. Katherine pushed for information at every corner. One question following the other. Sometimes he gave in, sometimes he let her run into a wall. This young man was still a stranger to him. And while being his friend's son certainly earned you points, they weren't as plentiful as carrying the title of his daughter.

"Ah, but I won't so why think about it. But as you seem so interested which side would you pick... the oppressed workers or the elite who has made their way of living possible..." A smile on his face, a glint in his eyes.

Alright, they were going to go down this road. Reeve in this time may have been a stranger to Loki, but Reeve was no stranger to Loki. The young man was more than the God's friend's son, he was his Godfather. A title that, in the future, nearly took to it's merit. Reeve rubbed his chin again, thinking again.

"Well, selfish as it may be; I'm more interested in how it would affect us than anything else. It involves not only mine, but all our futures, does it not? Otherwise, I would easily join the oppressed. But." Reeve paused for a moment, thinking on it again. "Things are never 'black and white,' are they." That wasn't a question, just simply a statement based off his own experiences. "Then again, you know far more about these sorts of thing than I do. I'm just a time displaced, awkward, twenty one year old." Reeve was earnest in saying that, but he still shrugged his shoulders lightly.

"Everyone is selfish," Loki said. In his mind to think about yourself was hardly a negative trait. Indeed, complete selflessness was a weakness. You could only find your strength if you put yourself first at times. "But, yes, I do. I believe we will be fine." He swallowed. There was more to that. An uncertainty about the future he had come to think of as nothing good. "Tell me, what's it like to be in your past?"
