Katherine watched the exchange, stumbling over the words. Some she recognised from French. Some she recognised through the All-Tongue. Some she didn't recognise at all. But she could feel the tension... spot the old routine of abuse and abuser. A man who thought himself superior. Who thought he could do whatever he wanted. And it reminded Katherine of her adoptive father Liam. The man who she believed killed her mother and stolen her away. Over the years, the anger had festered and the original uncertainty she had felt about the details of her story had vanished. Maybes had become naturallys. Of course, it had happened the way she thought it had. At least, most of the times. There were quiet pensive moments too. Once where she realised that maybe she was doing her adopted family an injustice. Things were rarely black and white. She hated black and white and yet... it just was so much easier and Rhysand wasn't there to be her sanity.
"Fuck off," she growled. Both words emphasised. Both words spoken in the All-Tongue. It would translate into whatever those who heard it were most comfortable with. It was one of the phrases she had learned first. Always good to know.
