"Before I arrived here, he was President of the United States for a while, did you know that?" Miguel said, somewhat absently, before Lyla began talking again.
"Yes, older. The Peter Parker that was here previously was sixteen years old. And I currently do not have Space Root Beer, but there may be Earth brands of Root Beer in either Lacey's or Bucky's," she replied, gesturing towards both the diner and coffee shop as she mentioned them.
At Peter's request, Miguel nodded and thought for a brief moment about how he should procede. "Okay. Lyla, help out with the graphics, would you? We're in an unknown section of space. Earth doesn't show up on any of the star maps we've found, and none of the star maps we've been able to get from Earth match up with anything we've got here," he said, while Lyla stopped manifesting as herself and projected a star map of the local galaxy instead.
After a few seconds of that, the star map zoomed in, pausing to show the local star sysyems, then closer again to show a wrong-colored Jupiter for a moment, and then even further to show what Miguel knew was the space station. He set his papers back down on the table, and stepped over to point at the middle wheel of the station. "Where we are now is a city orbiting a gas giant, capable of housing millions of beings, all different types of races. As it is, there's maybe a hundred of us here, from all kinds of different times and places. Not everyone here is human, by the way. Something happened here, long before we ever arrived, and there was a mass evacuation, so there's a shockload of... stuff left behind. We're working through it, slowly."
He paused at that point, and glanced over at Bucky's place. "I'm going to get another coffee and then you can come with me down to my lab if you want. There's more to explain."
