"Hey." Abigail said softly, returning Kat's greeting. "Oh..I - sorry." She stammered out at Annie's words. Her own scarves were like her glamour, hiding her scars. She hoped she hadn't made Annie feel the same way she did when someone mentioned her scars. Uncomfortable was a nice word for the way people could be. She'd seen pity, shock, even bullying in response to the unexpected.
Abigail was glad for the distraction. "Not long ago. He went out for a walk with Teddy. No one could be distressed around Teddy." The cute dog that resembled a teddy bear gave a little bark at the mentions of his name. She gave him a quick pet, to make sure he didn't feel ignored. Will wouldn't want any of the dogs to feel that way.
"Then Teddy came back, whining outside the door without Will. I thought Will must have come back here for some reason, but I haven't seen him. I checked the halls. He couldn't have gone far. He'd never abandon one of the dogs. Something's really wrong. So many crazy things happen here." Abigail said it all in a rush, trying to get as much information out as possible. They always made it through the bad stuff. She had to get through this too, ignoring the feelings of dread building inside of her. Will simply couldn't be gone. She'd never been without some form of father figure. She needed him.
